Set amongst the beautiful rolling koppies of the Bo Karoo, away from the hype of the cities, this area provides both; relaxation as well as plenty to do!
We are just metres from the Orange River for fishing, crock-ducking and only 6kms from the Gariep Dam and, in the other direction, the N1 a perfect stop-over between Gauteng and the Western or Eastern Cape or a holiday destination in itself!
We offer affordable pet friendly and family friendly accommodation, with or without en-suite amenities, through to practical backpacker bunks for the more adventurous traveler. Our bar and restaurant menus are varied and interesting and we always have delicious Karoo Lamb. Our famous regional speciality is roasts, chops, curries and potjiekos. Suits all ages.
As the Hotel incorporates a POST OFFICE, LIQUOR STORE and LOCAL SHOP we think we have most bases covered when it comes to convenience. You can draw cash from our in-house ATM, make an internet connection, grab a lotto ticket, buy what you need for your braai or fishing trip and write all your postcards home without putting a foot outside.

Orange Valley is the perfect halfway stopover or country retreat for the nature-lover and discerning traveler.
The farm lies within walking distance of the Orange River just below the Gariep Dam wall on the border between Northern Cape, Eastern Cape and Free State. Tar roads take you straight to our door where you’ll be greeted by your hosts, Bruce and Sue, in true Karoo hospitality. Probably the most spectacular sunsets and night skies you’ll ever see.
All 5 spacious rooms have en-suite bathrooms. Ceiling fans, heaters and tea and coffee making facilities are provided in each room. You’ll feel at home in our cozy pub and dining room where homemade dinners and country breakfasts are served. DSTV is available in the pub or relax around a sparkling swimming pool. Rest assured that you are safe and that your car is under cover and secure.
For something a little different; hike, horse ride or mountain bike through the neighbouring Oviston Nature Reserve. Various species of antelope are easily spotted along with zebra and the shy Brown Hyena. Visit our handmade crafts from the local craft center, enjoy homegrown vegetables and home cooked meals.
Enjoy the splendors of this historical and malaria free area! With all these fun activities at our doorstep, hurry down to Orange Valley B & B experience the thrill of the Karoo.
